Württemberg-Baden District-Stadtspolizei-Esslingen


The markings on this carbine indicate it was used in the American Occupation Zone district of Württemberg-Baden which existed 1945-1952. It was assigned to the City of Esslingen Stadtpolizei. The Stadtpolizei were comprised a patrol division, traffic enforcement, and other day to day police duties.

Stock slingwell and underside of handguard have have no numbers stamped in them. Ordnance cartouce visible on right side of buttstock.

No number on bolt. Recoil plate marked the same as trigger guard, WB-S-ESS. Also marked "No. 29", which is consistent with an inventory number.
