Underwood rebuild mark

Ordnance inspection mark on right side of buttstock

Evidence of prior round tag nailed to handgrip

Stock is a highwood with an oval sling cut, cut down to a low wood. NPM/FJA and cannon cartouche on right side of buttstock. Underwood rebuild mark on left side of buttstock. Bottom of hand grip shows impression of round metal plate, one nail hole. Normally a carbine given to the West German police during the early years of the occupation period would not have a rebuild mark. The rest of the carbine is not consistent with having gone through a rebuild. It appears the stock was probably not the stock on the carbine when it was used by Stuttgart.
