U.S. M1 Carbine
|
|
BackgroundI bought it at a gun show in the state of Washington approx. 2003-2004. The seller was selling the estate of a Police officer. There were about a dozen carbines. This one was the only one I thought was priced decent and I was taken by the add-on rear sight. All parts fit tight and shoots a tight group. The leather sling came with the carbine when purchased. The sling has no identifying marks on it.
Barrel Group
Century Arms import mark on barrel. Last 4 digits of receiver serial number stamped in right side of slide rail.
Stock Group
Stock has the last 4 digits of the receiver serial number in the sling well, the handguard in the bottom side.
Receiver Group
Early 6 digit Inland receiver. U.S. M1 carbine sight removed. Area behind rear sight groove has small grooves side to side for minimizing glare. Rear sight on receiver ring is same as other M1 carbines that have had this done in Germany. It is adjustable for windage, not elevation. Agency name removed from top left of receiver.
Bolt Group
Bolt has last 4 digits of receiver serial number electropenciled into the top. Bolt has not been dismantled since carbine was purchased.
Trigger Group
