Background This Carbine was returned to the U.S. Army by the government of Austria. It was then transferred by the U.S. Army to the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP). Purchased from CMP December 2009. Barrel band has bayonet lug cut off, normal for some of the Austrian Gendarmerie due to a public aversion to bayonets from an incident in the early 20th Century.
